Truth Shall Set You Free: Saturn entering Sagittarius in December, 2014 (and why we should get all we can out of the remaining Saturn in Scorpio weeks)
For nearly three years ever since October the 6th, 2012, up to this very moment, Saturn, dubbed the Great Malefic in classical Astrology, has been transiting the sign of Scorpio: a Planet carrying the archetypical energy of matter, structure, foundation as much as restriction, discipline and hardship, imbued with the deep, abysmal, profoundly psychological vibe of the Eighth Sign of the Zodiac, it made himself known in our daily Life often forcing us to anchor ourselves in the depths of our Psyche and uncover all that was secretly running the show of our Life from behind the curtains: forgotten issues, subconscious patterns, if not pathologies altogether. We’ve been dealing, all of us, with a heavy, low-resonating kind of vibration that left us with no choice but to confront our unspeakable fears, deep-rooted compulsions, quite possibly addictions. A curse? A blessing? I like to think both. As uncomfortable as it felt for us to plod through our own darker sides, it can’t be denied this was, and still will be, for a little while, a valuable opportunity to achieve self-mastery and regain our power – a power that could have remained constantly undermined by the secret, occult patterns hidden in the shadow of Scorpio, those that prevented our true Will from guiding our actions and behaviours. This is why I think we should make the most of Saturn transiting through the last degrees of Scorpio as it prepares to enter the sign of Sagittarius and go back to Scorpio for a short Retrograde lapse. Because Saturn’s orbit is remarkably slow, and it takes around 28/29 years for this planet to make a complete circuit of the Zodiac. It means the time to free ourselves of our psychological burdens, to own them and to make the right choice is – still – now, unless we don’t want to wait for another 29 years cycle while allowing our subconscious to dictate our Life.
On December the 23rd, 2014, Saturn will enter Sagittarius,
but the shift will not be final yet. We will have a taste of what
Saturn in Sagittarius is all about, before it retrogrades back to
Scorpio from June the 14th, 2015 to September 17th,
2015, when it will finally leave Scorpio for good. From there onwards,
there is no going back, and it’s us who will decide if we want to stand
this test and be victorious. So if you somehow chose to delay this
process, which I can perfectly understand because I felt uncomfortable
with it myself, keep in mind this can’t be delayed any longer. Even if
it’s mentally and physically exhausting right now, it will allow us to
embrace our Future wholeheartedly, and enjoy the shift of Energy that
will manifest with Saturn’s entrance into the Sign of Sagittarius, where
the planet will transit until the year 2017. Whatever it is that holds
us back, makes us feel out of control, we can still benefit from the
chance to overcome it in order to develop our depth of character, our
strength and our integrity.
Upon Saturn’s transition into Sagittarius, first intermittently, and
then permanently, these possibilities will fade, and we’ll be presented
with a new ground for challenge: Truth, Freedom, open-mindedness,
spirituality, higher education, long-distance travel, distance in
general. In a similar way Saturn “dissected” Scorpio, we’ll see this
playing out with Sagittarian themes and keywords. The tests we’ll be
called to endure, the restrictions we’ll face, will revolve around these
fields. It’s a period in time that will not be devoid of struggle
although nowhere as heavy as the Saturn in Scorpio years.
Our Truth, Life values and will are always bound to clash against
someone else’s as long as we don’t embrace the fact that everyone
incarnates on this Journey with a different purpose, a different vision,
a different Life Path. Our understanding of others depends on how broad
is our vision and viewpoint, how much we’re prone to see the Big
Picture, the Forest instead of the trees, the proverbial Moon instead of
the finger, the extent to which we realize that ‘isms’ are shaping our
mindset: ethnocentrism, anthropocentrism, speciesism, sexism, or just
plain egocentrism. The coherence and integrity of our Life principles
and Higher Mind will play a pivotal role in all of this. After working
on the foundations of our being, we’ll get to build (or test) a Higher
structure and Wisdom in ourselves, and there will be little to no room
for lies, embellishments or hype, not about the facts, nor about our
self-image or others’, because Truth will out.
This is even more relevant in the Light of the fact that Saturn in
Sagittarius will be squaring Neptune in Pisces in 2015/2016: this makes
for a reality check, one that will most likely wipe away delusions and
pathological idealism. We’ll be called to pursue Truth first and
foremost instead of a construct, to seek for the real and to find Beauty
in it. Education and economic recession will come to the forefront – we’ve
already seen dramatic changes in the field of higher education in
several countries. The one I come from, Italy, serves as the perfect
example, with an ongoing debate around Universities, funding and
reforms, and a number of regulations that were not always well-received
by the masses. Access to this very area of Life will probably become
restricted and harder to achieve.
Issues regarding commitment will also surface, during Saturn’s stay into
Sagittarius. We’ll be asked to re-evaluate our sense of freedom and
personal boundaries, so commitment and lack thereof will be questioned.
Define freedom. What does it mean to be free? Are we really as liberated
as we think we are? Does avoiding taking responsibility equal freedom?
People with personal planets, or Ascendant, in Mutable signs
(Sagittarius of course, also Gemini, Virgo and Pisces) will be strongly
impacted by this transit and will experience it more intensely because
of the square/opposition pattern Saturn is going to form to their
planets and angles. These people more than others, are going to
experience the feeling of some kind of force threatening to crush them –
it will seem so only as soon as you consciously resist. Letting go of
old patterns and questioning yourself, trying to internalize everything
said above, will bring the best results.
