Goddess Demeter of agriculture
who brings benefaction on the earth had
only one daughter Persephone.
But one day suddenly Persephone was taken away
to dark Hades.
Somehow she managed to come back on the earth,
but she has to live as the goddess in Hades for 4 months out of one year.
During that time, because of Demeter's great sorrow,
plants die and it becomes winter on the earth.
Virgo is the figure of tragic goddess Persephone,
and is able to be seen in the spring night sky.
Being held in her hand, on the tip of an ear of wheat a beautiful white star of the first magnitude Spica is shining.
